There were: 38 donors (10 dpmp), which resulted in 69 kidneys, 37 livers, 8 hearts, 5 double and 3 single lungs, and 2 pancreas being transplanted into recipients. In addition 29 corneas, 20 heart valves and 2 bone donations were sent to the appropriate tissue bank.

The mean age of donors was 40.3 years, with an age range of 7.7 - 66.7 years.

The major cause of death was cerebrovascular accident in 53%, followed by road trauma in 26%.

35% of donors with a known occupation were classified as students and white collar workers. The majority of donors were Caucasoid and their Religion was recorded as Christian.

Consent for organ donation was sought in 66% of cases by the Intensive Care Unit Clinician. There were 9 (24%) cases whereby consent was volunteered by the family. Coronial inquiries were required in 47% of all donors.
