Saphenous vein

Veins are thin walled blood vessels that carry oxygen depleted blood from the tissues to the heart.
The Greater Saphenous vein runs from the groin area to the foot down both legs. Grafts of the veins can be used in coronary artery by-pass surgery, vascular by-pass surgery in the leg, and other vascular by-pass surgeries.
